Auburn, N.Y. — A man was airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse after he lost control in a curve in the town of Cato and his car catapulted over a guardrail, the Cayuga County sheriff’s office said.
A news release from the sheriff’s office said the 2011 Hyundai was heading north on Route 34 near Smithler Road about 7 a.m. when the car veered off the road, hit and went over the guardrail, and ended up on the north side of the intersection.
The man was wearing his seat belt and was alone in the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies did not release the man’s name.
