With Google+ you would think there would be no reason to unfollow people, but there is one time that I think this would be useful.
There are “circle shares” on Google+ that you or anyone can become a part of and if you add a large circle to your circles, there is a good chance that many of those people will not follow you back.
Google puts a limit on the amount of people you can have in your circles (5,000), so at times it would be a good idea to clean out the people that have not added you back to your circles, or even rid the “inactives”.
With most Social Media networks like Twitter and Facebook, there is a way to find people that have not added you back and you can in return “unfollow” the “unfollowers”. Well there is now a free app for Google Chrome Browsers that will allow you unfollow the people that you have added to circles, but they have not added you to their circles.
I addition to that, you can also search for “inactive” bases on a time frame since they last posted and remove the in-actives and ‘fake’ profiles that you may have added to your circles unknowingly.
Again, this is important because with Google+, 5000 is the limit for the total number of profiles that can be included across all your circles (you can have unlimited people that add you to their circles). So keeping your list ‘clean’ with actives and with people that have actually added you to their circles is important.
There is a free app called Circloscope Free (Uncirclers+) that you can add to your Chrome Browser. Circloscope Free (Uncirclers+) will find and remove people who are in your circles but have not added you back to their circles
Be sure you are logged in to your Google+ profile on your Chrome Browser and then install the Circloscope Free (Uncirclers+) extension.
The rest is pretty self explanatory, but a real cool feature is you can select and/or unselect the circles that you want to search and remove people from.
Circloscope Free (Inactives+) is a separate free plugin that you can add to your Chrome browser that is specifically designed to search for inactive users. You can also select your circles and base the search for the amount of time people have been inactive.
Be sure you are logged in to your Google+ profile on your Chrome Browser and then install the Circloscope Free (Inactives+) extension.
Then Select the “Uncircle” or the “Inactives” tab in your Chrome browser to complete the function you wish to complete.
That’s it! Now you can clean up your Google+ circles!
